13 of the Best Gaming Mice for Fortnite Battle Royale

In Recommended Gearby Kr4mLeave a Comment

What makes a good mouse for Fortnite?

Here are the 4 key factors you need to consider when choosing your mouse:

  1. Size and Shape — A mouse that doesn’t fit your hand size and grip style is not going to feel right and your aim will never get as good as it can be. As a rough guide, your mouse measurements should be 60% of your hand size
  2. Sensor — Of course, you want the best and sensor so that your mouse is reliable and responsive. Every mouse on this list has a top sensor
  3. Weight — You want your mouse to weigh under 100 grams for fast-paced shooter games (like Fortnite). A mouse that’s too heavy can tire your arm when playing for long hours and hurt your aim and recovery. In general, the lighter the better
  4. Buttons — Because you have so many keybinds in Fortnite, you want a mouse that has side buttons to help distribute some of the actions. So, every mouse on this list has at least 2 side buttons

As you know, a mouse is a personal piece of hardware. And no one mouse is going to be perfect for everybody. In fact, there is no such thing as the perfect mouse.

You see, every mouse is different. Different size, different shape, different weight. So, every mouse has its own unique set of features, advantages, and disadvantages.

This list is a collection of the very best gaming mice for Fortnite. And it is arranged to start with the best.

But you should not pay too much attention to the number, because the best mouse for you could be further down the list.

Moreover, every mouse on this list is at least very good.

It’s important that you read about every mouse so you can make the most educated decision. And feel confident in your choice.

Are you ready?

1. Logitech G Pro Wireless

Coming in at the top spot is the Logitech G Pro Wireless mouse.

I studied what mouse the 287 best Fortnite players and streamers use. And the Logitech G Pro Wireless is the most popular by a long shot. With over 25% of the players in the sample using it.

Notable Fortnite players that use the Logitech G Pro: Cloak, Myth, SypherPK, Martoz, Nick Eh 30.

So, what makes the Logitech G Pro Wireless so good?

First, it was designed with direct input from professional eSports players. So you know it is made with top tier performance in mind.

Logitech G Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse

It uses the latest version of the HERO sensor, which is the highest performing and efficient sensor available.

The Logitech G Pro weighs just 80g. Which is very light, especially for a wireless mouse, and well under the 100g benchmark you want for a shooter like Fortnite.

It has an ambidextrous design making it suitable for all grip styles. And it even has buttons on both sides which means it’s suitable for lefties, too.

Here are the measurements of the Logitech G Pro Wireless:

  • Length: 125 mm
  • Width: 63.5 mm
  • Height: 40 mm

So it’s a medium-sized mouse and will be suitable if your hands are roughly average.

But aren’t wireless mice bad?

No. Not anymore, at least.

You see, the G Pro uses Logitech’s Lightspeed 2.4GHz wireless communication format and has a 1000 Hz (1ms) report rate. That means any delay is imperceptible by humans.

The advantage of a wireless mouse is that there is, of course, no cable. As you know, a mouse cable is annoying because of the drag it creates and which can affect your aim when playing Fortnite.

What about battery life?

Another concern with wireless mice is battery life. Because, obviously, you don’t want the battery to run out while you’re in an important game.

Logitech addresses this by increasing the efficiency of the HERO to consume 10x less power, enabling a lighter battery and a longer battery life.

The battery life with default lighting is 48 hours. And with no lighting, it’s 60 hours. Which should last a week for most gamers. Charge it before a tournament and you’ll have no worries.

Also, the G Pro works with Logitech’s Powerplay, a wireless gaming mouse charging system.

All things considered, this is an exceptional piece of hardware.

However, the one (and only) downside to the G Pro is the premium price to pay.

But if it fits your budget, you will not be disappointed.

2. Finalmouse Air58 Ninja

The Air58 Ninja was created in collaboration with arguably the most Fortnite player: Tyler “Ninja” Blevins.

And if you thought a mouse designed with a gamer would be bad then you are wrong. Because Finalmouse knocked it out the park with this mouse.

Notable Fortnite players that use the Finalmouse Air 58 Ninja: Ninja, Cizzorz, DrLupo, Vivid, Chap.

Let’s start by looking at its most remarkable feature, the weight.

The mouse gets its name because of how much it weighs: 58 grams. Which makes it the lightest mouse on this list, by far.

Finalmouse Air58 Ninja in Cherry Blossom Red

But the question is — is it too light?

And the answer is no. Not yet anyway.

Here are the dimensions:

  • Length: 128mm
  • Width: 60mm
  • Height: 40mm

The Air58 Ninja uses Finalmouse’s legendary Phantomcord mouse cable. It’s soft, flexible and so good you don’t need a mouse bungee because it feels wireless anyway.

Its sensor is the same as the Ultralight Pro and Phantom, which is the best in class.

The Air58 is hand painted with engraved and individualized Haiku Scrolls on every mouse. Meaning the Haiku and the mouse itself is unique to you.

And it comes in two stunning colors: Cherry blossom red and cherry blossom blue.

The downsides of the Air58 Ninja is that it is, of course, designed for Ninja. He’s 6ft 1in and has rather large hands, hence the 128mm length of the mouse.

So, if you have small hands this is probably not the mouse for you.

But if your hand size is right for the Air58 then consider yourself lucky because it’s a tremendous mouse.

You may have to wait a while to get ahold of one because they are very much in demand and sell out quick.

3. Zowie S Series

At number 3 we have my personal Fortnite mouse: The Zowie S Series.

Zowie is known for making mice with an excellent shape. Making use of subtle curvature so the mouse fits perfectly in your hand and doesn’t slip.

Zowie mice are most popular with CSGO players. Who, in general, have the best aim.

Notable Fortnite players that use the Zowie S Series: Mitr0, Vinny1x, Ares, Dizko, Lamar.

There are two versions the Zowie S Series, the S1 and the S2. Both are symmetrical and a right-handed design with buttons on the left side.

Zowie S2 Divina Mouse in Pink

Here are the specifications:

Zowie S1:

  • Length: 126mm
  • Width: 62mm
  • Height: 39mm
  • Weight: 87g

Zowie S2:

  • Length: 122mm
  • Width: 60mm
  • Height: 38mm
  • Weight: 82g

So, the S2 the smaller and lighter mouse. And I use the S2 because I have small hands.

You can think of the Zowie S series as a refresh of their FK series mice.

They listened to community feedback and created a mouse that is taller and not as long. With an upgraded 3360 sensor and buttons that are bigger and lighter. The button size is perfect for binding your building pieces in Fortnite.

If you are familiar with Zowie mice then you will be familiar with the cable. It’s a thick, flexible and smooth rubber that is no problem when in a bungee.

There’s no software either. Just plug it in and play. But there are buttons on the base to change the DPI and Polling Rate.

So, what are the downsides?

Well, the S Series is a glossy plastic mouse, which not everyone will love. And the only available colors are blue or pink and that’s not going to suit everyone’s taste or PC set up.

Hopefully, they release a matte black and white version.

Personally, I like the glossy feel and find it easy to grip. The pink version is awesome, too.

For gamers with small hands, this could be your best choice.

4. Glorious Model O

Glorious PC Gaming Race is a company started by PC gamers, for PC gamers. They provide excellent peripherals like mechanical keyboards, mouse pads, and wrist supports.

Now they have entered the gaming mouse market with the Glorious Model O, the world’s lightest RGB gaming mouse.

Notable Fortnite players that use the Glorious Model O: Poach, Riversan, Bugha.

Here’s how to think about this mouse: They have taken the features from the very best mice and the result is the Model O. They listened to community feedback and made what people wanted.

Glorious Model O Mouse in Matte Black

The Glorious Model O has a honeycomb shell to achieve the lightweight. Which is 67g for the matte models and 68g for the glossy models.

For the mouse cable, they use the Ascended Cord. A proprietary braided cable that is ultra-flexible and lightweight.

The Model O comes with premium G-Skate mouse feet which are 100% pure Virgin PTFE.

Here are the dimensions:

  • Length 128mm
  • Width 61mm
  • Height 37.5mm

So it’s quite long but narrow which should help with aiming.

It’s driver-free and is ready to use out of the box. The LED effects and DPI can be adjusted on the mouse without any software.

There are 4 variations of the Model O: matte black, matte white, glossy white and glossy black.

It has a 3360 sensor, zero mouse acceleration, and a 1000 Hz polling rate.

Overall, this is an amazing mouse. And it’s very affordable.

5. Logitech G502 Lightspeed

The Logitech G502 is one of the best selling mice of all time. It also has an interesting history with Fortnite.

You see, the G502 was the mouse Ninja was using from the start. And I’m sure he inspired a lot of people to purchase this mouse, including me.

You can check out my review of the Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum here.

Notable Fortnite players that use the Logitech G502: HighDistortion, Dakotaz, CaMiLLs, Beaks, Mega, Chrispy.

With the G502 Lightspeed, Logitech has taken the original and made it wireless.

Logitech G502 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse

As you know, Logitech’s Lightspeed wireless technology is fantastic, so no problems there.

It also uses the HERO optical sensor. So no problems there, either.

However, the most notable feature of this mouse is the buttons.

You see, the G502 has 11 programmable buttons. This is great for Fortnite because it means you can bind all your building pieces to the mouse and still have some buttons left for other things.

The downside to this mouse is the weight. Yes, the Lightspeed version is lighter than the original, but it still comes in at 112g which is more than the 100g benchmark for competitive shooters.

For general use, the G502 simply cannot be beaten.

Its infinite scroll wheel is one of my favorite features from any mouse, ever.

Do you want to help the environment?

PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is a common, low-cost plastic used in tens of thousands of items. When it gets turned into products, it’s almost always combined with chemicals and plasticizers. And these combinations make it bad for people and the planet.

The G502 Lightspeed is PVC free and has a Plastic Neutral Certification. This means that with every purchase Logitech helps fund Plastic Bank programs that help remove ocean-bound plastic from the environment.

For competitive shooters, I don’t think this is the best mouse because of the weight.

However, if you aren’t interested in competitive play and want a mouse with more features than you could ever imagine, then the G502 could be the mouse for you.

6. Finalmouse Ultralight Phantom

Had the Air 58 Ninja not existed then this would be further up the list.

But, make no mistake, the Ultralight Phantom is still an excellent mouse.

Notable Fortnite players that use the Finalmouse Ultralight Phantom: Nate Hill, Avxry, 72hrs, Dmo, CDNThe3rd, POW3R.

Unlike Finalmouse’s other Ultralight mice the Phantom has a different coating. You see, it has a real splatter. Meaning your mouse is unique and like no other.

Finalmouse Ultralight Phantom

And it has a much better cable than the other versions of the Ultralight, too. It’s the same cable as the Air58 Ninja which is the Phantomcord cable. As you know it’s soft and flexible and feels wireless even without a bungee.

It has a great ambidextrous shape and a top optical sensor, too.

The Ultralight Phantom uses the same shell as the Tournament Pro and Scream One and has a Honeycomb design to keep the weight down at only 71g.

There’s no software with this mouse, either. Just DPI stages of 400, 800, 1600 and 3200.

Again, the problem with Finalmouse’s mice is that they sell out extremely fast. So you have to act quickly when you want to get your hands on one.

7. Logitech G403

For gamers with large hands, the Logitech G403 used to be the default choice for shooters.

But now there is more choice and more competition than ever from different manufacturers.

However, the G403 still holds up in 2019 and deserves its spot on this list.

Notable Fortnite players that use the Logitech G403: Saf, Marksman, MoNsTcR, Kyzui, Aspect, Carose.

It has a safe, ergonomic shape with rubber grips on the left and right sides to give you more control when you play Fortnite.

Logitech G403 Wired Optical Gaming Mouse

The G403 communicates at up to 1,000 reports per second, the standard polling rate in today’s competitive environment.

For the sensor, it’s the renowned PMW3366 gaming mouse sensor. An excellent and precise sensor.

Here are the dimensions of the G403:

  • Length: 124 mm
  • Width: 68 mm
  • Height: 43 mm

So it’s not very long, but it is quite wide.

And weighing at 87.3g which is excellent for a mouse of its size.

Had I this post been written a year or two ago this would have been my top choice for gamers for large hands.

An amazing mouse that’s affordable, too.

8. Logitech G305

Are you looking for a small and wireless mouse?

Then the Logitech G305 is the mouse for you.

You can check out my full review of the Logitech G305 here or continue reading this post for a summary.

It’s affordable, weighs less than 100g and uses the fantastic HERO sensor.

Notable Fortnite players that use the Logitech G305: H1ghSky1, Wintrrz, KP5ive, Tinny, Elevate.

Here are the dimensions:

  • Length: 116.6 mm
  • Width: 62.15 mm
  • Height: 38.2 mm

So, it’s a very short mouse.

Logitech G305 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse

Because you need to use a battery for this mouse the weight comes in at 99g. Which, for a wireless mouse, is light.

But you can get the weight down to about 89g when you use a lithium battery. And even further down to about 85g when you use a lithium AAA converter.

With the extreme efficiency of the HERO sensor, you can game for up to 250 hours on just one AA battery. There is an indicator light on the mouse which will notify you when 15% of your battery is left.

As you know, the Logitech Lightspeed wireless technology is amazing, so there’s no need to go into any detail about that.

At less than half the price of the Logitech G Pro Wireless, the G305 is an attractive choice.

9. Razer Deathadder Elite

The Razer Deathadder is one of the oldest and most loved eSports shooter mice. So, it deserves a spot in the top 10.

Notable Fortnite players that use the Razer Deathadder Elite: Osmo, CouRage, TimTheTatMan, DrDisrespect, Parallax, Vikkstar.

The Deathadder has a true 16,000 DPI optical sensor and tracking up to 450 inches per second (IPS). And an ergonomic right-hand design with rubber side grips.

Razer DeathAdder Elite Gaming Mouse

It uses Razer’s mechanical mouse switches with a 50 million-click life cycle

Here is the size:

  • Length: 127mm
  • Width: 70mm
  • Height: 44mm

Meaning it’s a large mouse.

And the weight is 105g which makes it a little heavier than the 100g benchmark. This is where the Deathadder and shows it’s age against the newer and lighter mice that are available today.

10. SteelSeries Rival 600

The Rival 600 might look like a gimmicky mouse.

But, make no mistake, it’s a great piece of hardware.

Notable Fortnite players that use the SteelSeries Rival 600: Replays, Xime.

Here are the dimensions:

  • Length: 131 mm

11. Zowie FK Series

The release of the Zowie S series has meant the FK series is lower down on the list.

But it is still an excellent choice for gamers looking for a small mouse.

Listen, there are 3 different FK series mice. The FK-1, FK-1+ and FK-2. And I will explain each in a moment.

Notable Fortnite players that use the Zowie FK Series: AlexJJ, Luuu90, Neiru, Fulmer, Xsoo.

BenQ Zowie FK Series Ambidextrous Gaming Mouse

Here are the specifications of each, from largest to smallest:

FK-1+:

  • Length: 128mm
  • Width: 64mm
  • Height: 38mm
  • Weight: 95g

FK-1:

  • Length: 128mm
  • Width: 62mm
  • Height: 37mm
  • Weight: 90g

FK-2:

  • Length: 124mm
  • Width: 60mm
  • Height: 36mm
  • Weight: 85g

The FK series has an ambidextrous design with thumb buttons on both sides. So it’s comfortable and suitable for both left-handed and right-handed gamers.

The downside to the FK series is they use an older 3310 sensor. Which is still a great sensor and it’s going to be suitable for most use cases. In fact, you probably won’t ever have problems with it.

If a mouse sensor is particularly important to you and you want the top 3360 sensor, then you’re best off going with the Zowie S Series instead.

But if you are happy to get an older and more inexpensive choice then you will be more than satisfied with the FK Series.

Number 13: Zowie EC Series

As you know, Zowie mice are popular amongst CSGO players. And the most popular model is the EC series.

Listen, the EC series was designed for competitive Counter-Strike. They even teamed up with Emil Christensen for this mouse.

Do you notice the initials of his name? That’s where the name for this mouse came from, EC.

BenQ Zowie EC2-B Ergonomic Gaming Mouse

Anyway, as a Fortnite player, you don’t care all that much about Counter-Strike. But, maybe you should.

You see, the EC series mice are made for playing shooters for long hours. And, after all, Fortnite is a shooter game.

Anyway, there are four different EC series of mice. The EC1-A, EC2-A, EC1-B, and EC2-B.

Notable Fortnite players that use the Zowie EC Series: Hansol, Winter, Rass, Criz, DarkzyNL, Branchies.

The EC-A’s are the earliest models and the EC-B’s are the newest ones with an upgraded 3360 sensor. So, let’s focus on the EC1-B and EC2-B.

Here are the specifications the both of them from largest to smallest:

EC1-B:

  • Length: 128mm

The shape and balance for these mice are, of course, excellent. Because that’s what Zowie do best.

They are a bit old now and that’s reflected in the weight. But it is still an overall great mouse.
