The Fortnite map is now mostly water because of The Device event.
So it’s time to dive into Fortnite Summer Splash 2020.
Summer Splash is now until the end of Season 3.
Season 3 is scheduled to end August 27th, but this date could change as Fortnite Seasons are sometimes delayed.
So what exactly does Summer Splash bring?
Classic and new LTMs
From now until the end of Season 3, you can enjoy a rotation of LTMs (Limited Time Modes) such as Fog of War, Close Encounters, Unvaulted, Catch! and more.
Of course, the classic LTMs will have some Summer Splash twist to them to keep them feeling fresh.
According to the Fortnite blog post, “brand new LTMs will kick off in a future update and include new takes on Operation: Knockout, a reel ‘em in royale, and a game of elimination-powered upgrades.”
New outfits
Obviously, a Fortnite summer event means new skins.
So you can expect to see summer themed skins inspired by sand, sea, and sports.
In the v13.20 update that dropped today, Fortnite leakers revealed some of the skins. For example, Par Patroller, Cozy Chomps, Bryce 3000, Dad Bod Jonesy, and more.
Also, the Summer Splash event signals the return of Summer Drift and Beach Bomber to the Item Shop.
Conclusion
No matter where you are in the world or what the weather is like, you can enjoy the summer event in Fortnite.
I’m looking forward to playing the LTMs, because they allow you to play Fortnite in a different way to the usual battle royale mode.
And I wonder if the LTMs are Fortnite’s way of testing new modes that could have a permanent place in the game?
Anyway, I’m excited to dive into Summer Splash 2020 and I hope you’ve got your swimsuit ready!
